If the prophecies in the Book of Revelation already give a play by play of how things are going to go down during Tribulation, why would the Antichrist waste his time, if he knows he will be defeated?

Because like those fooled into following him, he doesnt know he will lose. satan knows that God is more powerful than him, but the antichrist wont know. They will believe satan is all powerful and they will obey him. satan will raise the antichrist to life to imitate what God did for Christ. And after this many will believe that no one can defeat satan and the antichrist and the false prophet will convince everyone who is not found in the Book of Life to follow the dragon or satan.





Its all about deception. Just like some of these atheist are convinced there is no God, soon some may see these false miracles and signs and believe that satan is actually God. Then they will follow him not knowing they are being deceived. And they will be destroyed by the Almighty and the Eternal God forever and ever.
Didn't your parents tell you, don't do that, you will get hurt? Didn't you do it anyway and get hurt?

The older you get, the more you will see that people do not take other people's advice / warnings. They just go on and do what they wanted and reap the results they were warned against.
Sometimes you are such a pessimist. If Pinky and the Brain never got off the couch to try and take over the world, where the eff would we be? So life is hopeless and really not worth living because we're just going to get screwed (the bad kind of screwed, not the good kind) in the end; why be such a downer about it? The anti-Christ is no less a fictional character than the rest and as such is entitled to his stab at fultility for the sake of preserving the dramatic arc of his comic book series. Becasue Satan has thought from day one that he was cast out of heaven that he is greater than GOD and can defeat him or at least make his creation, (us) worship him instead of GOD. And he will be successful to a point before GOD puts a stop to it. Satan is no omnipresent like GOD...he cant be everywhere and no everything.
Some would say humans are so stupid, they can't avoid a disaster even if they're told up front it's going to happen. But, if they avoided it then the prophecy would be proven false.
